Fake It, Don't Make It Croissants

My good friend Joe, a few of you may know him as Trader Joe, makes THE BEST croissants. Let them rise overnight and pop them in the oven. When baked, slice in half and add to the middle, a fried egg and piece of Black Forest ham ("fork in the road" in the deli at Whole Foods is so yummy) for a totally not gluten free or low calorie, but super delish easy breakfast! They also are great made ahead of time and used to make chicken salad or club sandwiches for a lunch party or served with jam and tea for a little breakfast or brunch gathering. There's nothing like hot fresh croissants!!
Ingredients:
- Trader Joe's Croissants
- Egg & Ham
- OR
- Fruit Jam
- OR
- Chicken Salad
- OR
- Turkey, avocado, sprouts, and lettuce
Instructions
- Let croissants proof overnight.
- Pop in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Slice down the middle and top with egg and ham for a yummy breakfast sandwich or chicken salad or turkey club goodness like avocado, sprouts, lettuce, and tomato. Or serve with fruit jam and tea for a mid-morning snack!
So delicious and so simple; one of my favorite easy, quick breakfasts. Find these butter croissants in the freezer aisle near the breakfast foods in Trader Joe's. Only $3.99/box and so easy! And if you're really feeling like a yummy sweeter style, try their Chocolate Croissants too! Enjoy!
