CJLA Girls Story: Simòn Bud

Hi CJLA Girls! We hope you're having a wonderful week. We are really excited to share another CJLA Girls Story with you today. We recently had the pleasure of chatting with Simòn Bud who told us all about her lifestyle and capsule. Read Simòn's full interview below!

CJLA: Tell us about yourself!

SIMÒN: Hey CJLA! My name is Simòn Bud and I live in Southern California in a little town called Simi Valley! A little known fact about me is that I immigrated with my family to America when I was about 7 years old all the way from South Africa. I have lived in California ever since then and I absolutely love it here. About three years ago I got married to the love of my life, Nic. We have a little chiweenie dog together, named Milo, and we plan to have kids in a few years when my husband finishes nursing school. I work as a dental hygienist at a general aesthetic office in Simi and have been doing that for about four years now! I’m absolutely passionate about what I do and am a proud tooth lover! Some of my hobbies include hiking, being outdoors, camping, creating DIYs with essential oils and making beeswax candles.

CJLA: How did you find CJLA?

SIMÒN: I found CJLA through a big giveaway they were doing earlier this year. I was tagged in the giveaway picture by a friend and followed the tag and the rest is history! It was cool for me to see girls of all shapes, sizes, colors and styles being featured in the photos. I loved how the models featured look like real girls that I could relate to. When I placed my first order I absolutely fell in love with the clothes, the quality and the community that is CJLA. I usually don’t pay too much attention when I’m tagged in a giveaway but I could not deny how amazing CJLA was and is!

CJLA: CJLA is more than clothes, it's a community! Why do you love being a member of the CJLA community?

SIMÒN: Being a part of the CJLA community is one of the reasons why I love this brand so much. I feel so supported in the pieces I choose to add to my capsule. I always find myself reaching for my CJLA clothing when choosing an outfit to wear because I feel like I know how to style it and what to put it with because the resources are endless when it comes to this! There are helpful videos on Insta, TikTok, Pinterest and blog posts just like this one! Not to mention one of my favorite outlets, the CJLA Insiders page on Facebook! You will find a community of girls lifting each other up and offering advice and support, which is unheard of when it comes to other brands of clothing. This is not just clothing, it’s a community, and an amazing one at that.

CJLA: What are your three all-time favorite CJLA capsule pieces?

SIMÒN: If I had to pick my three favorite capsule CJLA pieces they would most likely be the Clarke Jeans, the Arley Ribbed Pullover, and the Rowan Dress. Wooh, that was hard. I honestly love all of my pieces!

CJLA: Why does the capsule concept work for you and your lifestyle? How has having a CJLA capsule helped to simplify your life?

SIMÒN: The capsule concept works for my lifestyle in the best way! For one, I used to work at a retail store and was constantly surrounded by fashion and outfit ideas. I now work in a dental office where I wear scrubs 99% of the time. I started to notice that my closet was filled with a bunch of things I either didn’t like anymore or didn’t know how to wear or style. I had nowhere to look for inspiration anymore until I found the CJLA community. Wearing scrubs during the week can make me feel frumpy and uninspired. I would come home from work, shower, and put on PJs. On the weekends I would try to put together outfits with what I had but it would be so hard-- "This doesn’t go with that! Ew that has a stain on it. That fits me weird! This is out of style!"--You name it. With a capsule, it’s all different. You find quality pieces that go together, are easy to style, and, are most of the times, extremely comfortable! Let be real, I love a cute outfit but if it’s uncomfortable, I’m probably not going to wear it too often, especially after work. I now have a capsule that works for me. It’s helped me to have the motivation to put on real clothes after work, which are comfortable, but still cute! It helps me to feel like I still have some of the day left after working a long shift, rather than just changing into pajamas and calling it a night. It helps me to feel confident and cute on the weekends! Most of all, I no longer feel like I have a cluttered closet that I don’t know how to style. I’ve invested in quality pieces that allow me to downsize and rid myself of things like “that old shirt” that I’d been hanging on to for years for who even knows why!  Less clutter, good pieces, easy styling, sign me up!

CJLA: What is your favorite CJLA piece to style?

SIMÒN: My favorite CJLA pieces to style would probably be the dresses. I love how you could think a dress is a one and done type of outfit but CJLA has definitely shown me that this is not the case. The possibilities are endless to dress up and dress down a dress! Simply changing your shoes, jewelry and hair can take your dress to the next level. You can add more shape by adding a belt or a cute jacket! You can even put on a pullover or a loose t-shirt and tie it in the front for a cute “boho” look with your dress!

CJLA: If you had to describe CJLA to a friend using three words what would they be?

SIMÒN: If I could only describe CJLA to a friend in three words they would most definitely be comfortable, great quality, and ridiculously cute! Oh and let’s not forget addictive!
