I was so excited to get this in the mail, but unfortunately this sweater ended up being super oversized and therefore not very flattering. I typically wear a small in CJLA tops and so that's what I ordered, but I feel like even the XS would have been too big. It also wasn't the gorgeous rust color that was pictured, but ended up being an odd brown color. Was bummed to have to return this piece!
I'm so sorry the Sterling wasn't what you were hoping for, Jess! I think an XS would be okay, but I completely understand if it's not the color you're hoping for. You may prefer a style more of the Evelyn or of the Jayden better. I'm so sorry!
I love the Sterling. This is my 4th. The rust color is perfect for fall and winter. Such a cozy and soft staple. I’m pear shaped, 5’7’, 140 lbs, with average size arms. I wear a medium in most CJLA and a small in oversized. The small fits perfect. Don’t miss out on this color!
This is amazing! It just shows how good this piece is when you've bought your fourth!! Thank you for including your sizing as it's so helpful for others when they're trying to decide what sizing would be best for them. This color is such a perfect staple! :)
Really bummed by the fact that this top is made in China. One of the reasons I started shopping CJLA and have been willing to pay their prices was the local/ethical clothing production and that seems to be less and less the case. This top is a nice color and looks pretty good on, (though it runs huge!) but the fabric feels rough and cheap and it has raw edges so I don’t have high hopes for it holding up well. I am so bummed that the fabric isn’t soft like I expected. Also, while it’s not so oversized I can’t pull it off, this top runs extremely big, I am not a small person, I am 5’3” and 168 with a 34G chest and ordered a medium and probably would have looked better in a small. I’m almost over the line between cute-oversized and frumpy in the medium, but I’m going to keep it in case there is any shrinkage when I wash it and because I love the color and cut of the shirt. There is also a weird issue where the collar is made of one strip of fabric that meets on one of the shoulders, so one side has a seam at the shoulder and the other sides doesn’t. And the thick underside of the seam sticks out beyond the collar and shows in a unattractive/distracting way. It would have been less of an issue if this seam was at the back of the collar instead of unbalanced on one side with a seam sticking out on your shoulder. I’m hoping I can tack or iron it down because it can’t be trimmed or the stitching will fall apart. If I hadn’t gotten this top on sale, it would be going back.
Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry about that Kara! The Sterling is one of our most popular products that we've brought back multiple times! :) It sounds like you may have gotten a defective top. Please reach out to our Customer Care team at email@example.com and they'd be happy to get this fixed for you!
Just got this top and love it! It feels just as comfy as the Evelyn but a slightly dressier feel and look. I wear small or possibly extra small in most CJLA tops and got this in a small. Fits great!
I own the sterling in every colour but this may be my fave! It is a wonderful fit and not as oversized as Evelyn. I’m 5’5 155lbs and stick true to size in medium but it’s a comfortable fit so I could easily size up or down. Very soft and flattering and my most worn top! If you don’t have it you need it! Trust me you won’t regret this purchase!!!
