Love the Shay Puffer! The colors are perfection. I purchased the olive and pumpkin color. I'm only keeping one but had a tough time deciding. I agree with other reviewers on buttons with the fabric weight and that it runs large. I purchased small and am typically a Medium (8 in dresses, 28 in jeans). There is plenty of room for a sweater! Love that option! I like the oversized look and feel. It's super soft too. I live in Texas so this is the perfect winter coat for me. We don't see much snow in these parts. Ha!
Thank you so much for leaving such an amazing review, Michelle! We appreciate your feedback with the material of the Shay and how we can continue to improve the quality of our pieces. We love that you included your sizes as it will help other gals to know what size may be best for them! :) Can't wait for you to wear it all winter long!!
I wasn’t really in need of a winter coat but saw this and fell in love with the color. Held off on purchasing but bit the bullet when promo code made it a worthwhile price point for me. Just received yesterday! Pros: Shipping was fast which was great. Color is spot on. Cons: Agree with reviewer above - Buttons are a little too heavy duty for the fabric and felt like if I pulled too hard it would rip. Fit is just a little off? I’m 5’2 and followed model description to get small. Definitely a wider cut and sleeves are pretty long. Should’ve gotten the xs but currently out of stock. As described, it is a lighter weight puffer so keep in mind it’s not for frigid winters. Plus side is that with the wider cut, layering is easy. Overall, I do like the coat and living in the northeast, will get use out of it in the fall and maybe a mild winter with a heavier layer underneath. Taller daughter came home from college and was eyeing it up so if xs is restocked, I’ll pass the small onto her if she doesn’t steal it anyway :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review, Vicki! We'll definitely look into the buttons with the Shay and see how we can improve on that. That's so good to know for sizing that they may prefer sizing down if they want it less roomy. :)
The puffer is def lightweight, a little too light for winter for me. I love the color!..But the fit was off for me. I'm 5'3 #160, typically a S/M in CJLA tops, 9/11 bottoms. I ordered a small & there's still plenty of room for a chunky sweater, TTS would have been huge, recommend sizing down. Arms were still a bit long but ok for a jacket. Buttons are good & sturdy, but when I unbutton I felt like I was going to rip the puffer. The shoulders are broad & widening. The puffer feels narrows at the bottom. I'm curvy & this doesn't compliment my body type. If you have a straighter body, it may fit better. I also wished that it had a two-way zipper to look & feel better. I live in puffers for 6mo straight, so it needs to fit right completely zipped up. Really wanted to love this....
I'm so sorry you didn't completely love the Shay, Olivia! We will definitely look into all of your suggestions of how we can improve the Shay. You may like looking into the Seattle jacket! :) It'll have a bit more of a fitted body.
